Kelley Jackson is a communications and public relations consultant with more than 15 years of experience in the media as a writer, editor, producer and public relations specialist. Under the banner Jackson Wordsmiths, Jackson consults for a host of prominent, high-profile public, private, corporate and entertainment figures and organizations needing support in the areas of public relations, communications writing, speechwriting, scriptwriting, and video production.

As a former communications consultant with the DeKalb County CEO's Office, Jackson's primary duties included speechwriting and public relations support for the CEO and Board of Commissioners during special events and public meetings. As the former public information officer for the City of College Park, she directed all public relations activities for the city, including its broadcast cable operations and website.
        
Jackson has also served as the public relations manager for Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta, a local affiliate of the national non-profit youth-serving organization Girls Inc. She was the first public relations manager ever hired with the organization and was instrumental in the successful launch and implementation of the first ever "Girls Summit," a regional daylong conference focused on empowering young women and girls.

Prior to joining Girls Incorporated, Jackson worked as an account manager and media relations specialist with First Class, Inc., a distinguished Atlanta-based public relations firm. With FCI, Jackson managed public relations strategies for a host of clients, including the Burger King Corporation, the National Conference of Black Mayors, Capital City Bank, and Hughes Spaulding Children's Hospital.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Black Public Relations Society (BPRS), the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, and the Atlanta Press Club.
        
Jackson spent several years in Los Angeles holding various positions in the entertainment industry, including music journalist, associate producer, assistant to the producer, researcher, and production assistant. While employed at one of Hollywood's major studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Jackson worked as an assistant to producers and development executives for such television shows and film production companies as Alec Baldwin's Eldorado Pictures, Manifest Films ("The People vs. Larry Flynt"), Turman Morrissey Productions ("Booty Call"), Sony Animation's "Men in Black," and The Game Show Network.

Jackson began her career as a writer with American Media where she served as head writer for the nationally syndicated entertainment radio program, "Girl Talk," and subsequently served as a contributing writer and editor for several music and entertainment industry trade publications, as well as consumer publications.
